World of Two: A Tale of Light and Darkness (Ep:01)
Episode 1: The City of Chaos
The year is 2050, and Lakshmipur, once a peaceful village in Bangladesh, has become a sprawling, chaotic metropolis. Towering skyscrapers reach for the sky, while the streets below are filled with violence and fear. Holographic billboards flicker above broken sidewalks, displaying advertisements to a population too busy surviving to care. The city is a contradiction a futuristic landscape plagued by lawlessness. Every day, people fight over food, territory, and petty disputes, while the once tight-knit community is now torn apart by greed and power.
The sun sets behind the crumbling skyline, casting long shadows across the streets. The scent of smoke and sweat fills the air, as distant sirens echo through the alleyways. Lakshmipur has become a city of despair, where hope is a rare commodity.
Scene 1: Eshan’s Quiet Determination
Eshan, a boy of about twelve, stands on the steps of a small, rundown house on the outskirts of the city. His dark hair is slightly messy, his eyes large and filled with sadness. In front of him, the distant glow of the city lights flickers, though they offer no warmth or comfort. Behind him, Mr. Rahman, his caretaker, shuffles quietly. The old man, with his wrinkled face and wise eyes, has been raising Eshan ever since the boy’s parents died in a riot years ago.
“Don’t let the city change you, Eshan,” Mr. Rahman says softly, placing a gentle hand on the boy’s shoulder. “There is still good in this world, even if it’s hard to see.”
Eshan doesn’t reply, but his fists clench at his sides. He has heard this lesson many times before. And yet, every day, he watches as the world around him grows darker. His parents had tried to do good they believed in peace, just as Mr. Rahman does but it hadn’t saved them. Eshan can’t help but wonder if kindness is enough in a world where violence is power.
As the night deepens, Eshan sits by the window, staring up at the stars. His thoughts swirl with anger and confusion. How can he stop the suffering he sees around him? How can he help a city that seems beyond saving?
“I’ll find a way,” he whispers to himself, the words barely audible. “I have to stop this. I’ll help them… somehow.”
Scene 2: Cyrus’s Cold Beginnings
Across the city, in the darkest and most dangerous parts of Lakshmipur, a different boy walks through the streets. His name is Cyrus—though that is not the name he was born with. He doesn’t use his real name anymore. To him, it represents weakness, a past that he has long since discarded.
Cyrus’s parents died the same day as Eshan’s, in the same riot. But while Eshan found a mentor in Mr. Rahman, Cyrus was left to fend for himself. The streets taught him quickly that compassion is a liability. The strong survive; the weak are crushed. He learned to fight, to steal, and to manipulate. At twelve years old, Cyrus had already built a reputation among the gangs that roamed the city’s underworld.
The night is cool, but Cyrus feels nothing. His eyes, sharp and calculating, follow the movements of a nearby gang fight. Two rival groups clash over territory, their fists flying as curses fill the air. Cyrus watches from the shadows, unimpressed.
“They fight over scraps,” he mutters under his breath. “Idiots.”
As one of the gang members stumbles away from the fight, bleeding from a cut across his brow, Cyrus steps forward. The man glares at him, ready to lash out, but Cyrus only smiles.
“Teach me,” Cyrus says calmly. His voice is as cold as his eyes. “Teach me how to take what I want.”
The gang member pauses, seeing something dangerous in the boy’s gaze. After a moment, he nods, recognizing potential in the emotionless child standing before him.
Scene 3: Paths Diverge
Time passes, and both Eshan and Cyrus grow stronger in their own ways. Eshan, under the guidance of Mr. Rahman, learns patience and empathy. He helps those in his neighborhood with small tasks, offering a kind smile or a helping hand. But inside, he feels restless. Every act of kindness feels too small, too insignificant in the face of the overwhelming violence in Lakshmipur.
Meanwhile, Cyrus dives deeper into the city’s darkness. He rises quickly within the ranks of his gang, not because he is the strongest fighter, but because he is the smartest. He learns to manipulate, to use people as tools for his own gain. Compassion, to him, is a weakness that he has long since discarded. His ambition grows with each passing day, and he begins to dream of something bigger than just controlling a small piece of the city. He wants more much more.
On the surface, the two boys seem worlds apart, but they are linked by the same pain. Both lost their parents to the same senseless violence. Both want to change the world, but the paths they choose are vastly different. Eshan clings to hope, believing that the world can be healed through kindness and unity. Cyrus, however, sees the world as broken beyond repair, a place where only power can bring peace—even if that peace is built on the ruins of those who stand in his way.
Scene 4: Eshan’s Awakening
One day, Eshan’s life changes forever. While wandering the city in search of ways to help, he stumbles upon an old, abandoned government building. Curious, he ventures inside, his footsteps echoing in the dusty halls. Deep within the building, he finds a hidden lab—a place where scientists once conducted secret experiments aimed at unlocking human potential.
The lab, though abandoned, is not entirely empty. Eshan discovers old journals, equipment, and data, all pointing to experiments designed to enhance human abilities. Driven by his desire to protect the people of Lakshmipur, Eshan decides to learn more. He spends days, then weeks, studying the information left behind.
It isn’t long before he begins experimenting on himself. The process is painful, but Eshan endures it, knowing that the power he seeks is not for himself, but for those he wishes to protect. Slowly, he starts to unlock abilities—he can manipulate energy fields, create barriers of light, and even heal small injuries.
But these powers come with a price. Eshan’s abilities are tied to his emotions, and his strength wavers depending on his mental state. Worse, he begins to notice a shift in his personality. When pushed to the edge, a darker, more aggressive side of him starts to emerge. It scares him, but he knows that he cannot stop now. The city needs him.
Scene 5: Cyrus’s Corruption
At the same time, Cyrus’s own transformation is beginning. His quest for power leads him to a secret underground organization—a group that has been experimenting with dark energy, seeking ways to control and harness it. Unlike Eshan’s pursuit of light, Cyrus willingly embraces the darkness.
The experiments are brutal, but Cyrus thrives in the pain. The dark energy flows through him, granting him abilities far beyond that of any normal human. He can manipulate shadows, bending them to his will, and drain the life force of those around him. The power is intoxicating, and Cyrus becomes addicted to it.
He no longer sees the people of Lakshmipur as individuals with lives and hopes. To him, they are merely obstacles in his path, pawns to be sacrificed in his pursuit of absolute control. His ambition grows darker by the day, and he begins to form his own organization—a dark society with a singular goal: to destroy humanity in order to “save” the Earth.
Final Scene: The Divide Begins
The episode ends with a powerful image. Eshan stands on a rooftop, the sun rising behind him, casting a warm glow over the city. His eyes are filled with hope, even as the chaos of Lakshmipur rages below. He is determined to save the people, to bring peace to the city without resorting to violence.
Meanwhile, across the city, Cyrus stands in the shadows, watching the same sunrise. But where Eshan sees hope, Cyrus sees opportunity. His eyes, glowing with dark energy, are cold and calculating. He will save the world too—but in his own way. And if that means destroying everything first, then so be it.
The two boys, born from the same chaos, now stand on opposite sides of a growing conflict. Neither knows the other exists yet. But their paths are set, and their fates are intertwined.
The battle for Lakshmipur has only just begun.
